Schalmont School’s The Play is the Thing
On November 14th, I had the pleasure of attending Schalmont’s school production of “The Play is the Thing,” featuring my two nephews, Caleb and Zack. The play consisted of three smaller acts, the first two of which escape my memory in terms of their titles. Caleb had a couple of funny moments in the second act that got the audience chuckling, but the true highlight of the night was Zack’s performance in the third act, entitled “MMMM Beth.“
“MMMM Beth” was a wacky and zany take on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, and the student’s energy on stage was absolutely chaotic. They fully embraced the absurd humor of the act, delivering every line with comedic timing and expressions that had the entire audience roaring. This stayed with me in the best way and left my lady and I talking about it long after the curtain closed.
I’ve shared some photos from the production, including a few of Zack in action during “MMMM Beth.” The pictures capture just a fraction of the fun and chaos that unfolded on stage, but they’re a great way to relive the evening. Seeing both of my nephews up there, giving it their all and having so much fun I’m so proud of them both!
