Here are a few photos from Fandom Fest August 2024.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Without a doubt, these two were my favorite pair during the cosplay contest. Not only did this couple nail the look of Burt and Mary from the Disney film Mary Poppins, but they also sang a duet of “Jolly Holiday” that was spot on.

The Rest

The rest of the cosplay contest featured some impressive entries, showcasing the passion and effort of the participants. Most contestants were dressed as anime characters, a genre I’m not familiar with, so I missed some of the nuances.

Meeting People

These shots were taken while walking around before the contest, as I chatted with some of the participants and asked them to strike a pose for me.

Punk!

This guy was awesome! Although he wasn’t modeled after any specific character, his design was clearly inspired by Steampunk lore. His outfit perfectly matched the atmosphere of the old theater.

Tank!

I’ve been to many comic cons, and it’s a shame that so few people dress up as Cowboy Bebop, let alone as a duo of Bebop and Eddie. Seeing this was a real treat, and these guys were incredibly fun and enthusiastic about posing. I’m told the character behind them is Ichimaru Gin from Bleach, though I’m not familiar with him myself.

Biff, Bang, Pow!
