A Trip to Vermont – Lake Champlain
On The Way
Lady and I took a memorable drive to Vermont, spending some much-needed quality time together around the serene beauty of Lake Champlain, the vibrant energy of the Chapel Street Market, and the restorative Texas Falls.
During our drive, we pulled over to capture a beautiful photo of a windmill set against the backdrop of stunning mountain scenery.
Later, we stumbled upon something truly unexpected—a giant concrete sculpture of an ape holding a Volkswagen Beetle in the parking lot of what appeared to be an abandoned building. At first, I wasn’t entirely sure what I was looking at as it emerged in the distance. After a quick search, I discovered that this quirky statue is called Queen Connie. It was commissioned in the 1980s as a promotional piece for the car dealership that once operated there.
Lake Champlain
This was my first time to Lake Champlain and the view did not disappoint.
Around The Lake
Some photos I took in the park surrounding the lake.
Lake Champlain Navy Memorial
“In honor of the historical naval actions on Lake Champlain, the Navy Memorial Foundation approved placing The Lone Sailor at this first civilian location.”
Chapel Street Marketplace
I was a bit disappointed with the Chapel Street Marketplace. I had hoped to find more original, locally owned boutiques, but it turned out to be mostly filled with corporate franchises
Lady
Of course any time I travel with Lady, I can’t help but snap photos of her.
